Keep Your Chats in Check This School Holiday With WhatsApp

As school holidays approach in Malaysia, parents are getting ready to use WhatsApp to connect with family and friends. With over 2 billion users worldwide sending over 100 billion messages daily, it’s important to know how to manage your messages and privacy. WhatsApp has recommended several features that allow users to better control their conversations.

Firstly, users can silently leave group chats without notifying other members. This is ideal for when you no longer need to be a part of a particular chat. Secondly, archiving chats allows users to declutter their chat screen without permanently deleting conversations. Users can always bring them back if needed.

Thirdly, turning off read receipts can give users extra time to respond to messages, and also ensures that their contacts won’t know when they’ve viewed messages. However, users won’t be able to see when their contacts have viewed their messages either. Fourthly, users can hide their online status to maintain their privacy.

Fifthly, muting both individual and group chats is a great way to control notifications. Users can choose how long to mute a chat for: 8 hours, 1 week, or always. Finally, users can turn off the “save to camera roll” feature, which prevents photos and videos from taking up storage on their phone.

Overall, using these features can help users better manage their conversations, maintain privacy, and prevent overwhelming their phone storage.
