Trinasolar Sees Growing Opportunity For Hybrid Solar Projects in Southeast Asia

Located in Merchang, Terengganu, the 100MWac hybrid facility, developed by Cypark Resources Berhad, integrates 35MW of floating solar panels with 65MW of ground-mounted panels. Operational since June 9, it aims to offset 202,024 tonnes of CO2 annually.

Trinasolar – The project

The project showcases the company’s Vertex modules, which excel in harsh coastal conditions. Trinasolar’s Southeast Asia head, Elva Wang, anticipates significant opportunities for similar projects in the region, contributing to Malaysia’s 70% renewable energy target by 2050.
