The Selangor International Business Summit 2024 (SIBS 2024) Series 2 concluded with substantial success, generating RM1.66 billion in potential transactions and attracting 44,295 visitors from over 80 countries. Organized by Invest Selangor Bhd, SIBS has solidified its role as a significant platform for ASEAN business, innovation, and sustainable growth. The event featured 500 exhibitors from 20 countries and included various expos and conventions focused on key sectors such as food and beverage, halal certification, life sciences, and smart city development.
The Selangor International Expo (F&B) attracted over 300 exhibitors from 12 countries and showcased advancements in food technology, sustainable packaging, and alternative proteins. Thailand Week 2024, co-located within this expo, featured 80 booths to bolster Thai-Malaysian trade ties. The Selangor International Halal Convention highlighted progress in halal certification and digital innovation, supporting collaboration in the halal sector.
The Selangor Life Science Convention (SLC) convened leaders from biotech, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare, complemented by the launch of the Selangor Lab Partnership Programme and a seminar on sustainable futures. This convention emphasized Selangor’s expanding role in ASEAN’s life sciences industry. Meanwhile, the Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention centered on topics like AI, semiconductor innovation, and urban technology, concluding with a Startups Demo Day where 20 startups pitched sustainability-driven innovations to investors.
Networking sessions facilitated over 300 connections, fostering collaborations among investors and entrepreneurs. Across Series 1 and 2, SIBS 2024 hosted 994 booths and 664 exhibitors, drew 52,845 visitors, and recorded RM13.86 billion in potential transactions. For 2025, the summit aims to position Selangor as ASEAN’s hub for transformative and advanced commercial solutions, emphasizing sustainability and impactful partnerships.
