After Anwar, now Zafrul admits to talks of jumping ship

Umno Supreme Council member Tengku Zafrul Aziz acknowledged discussions with PKR about potential party membership but clarified no decision has been made. The Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry expressed surprise at Umno leadership’s lack of communication, stating he would inform his party officially if any decision materialized. Earkue, PM Anwar, whose party fought against frogging, confirmed there’d are talks about Zafrul.

UMNO vs Jumping ship

Umno strongly opposes PKR’s potential recruitment of Tengku Zafrul Aziz, warning against party-hopping within the Unity Government. Secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki condemned member poaching, stating it threatens coalition stability and creates conflict. Umno emphasized its commitment to maintaining unity and rejected any actions undermining inter-party trust.
