Malaysia Hosts First Parallel Beijing Financial Street Forum to Boost China-ASEAN Financial Integration

Malaysia hosted the first-ever Parallel Forum of the Annual Conference of the Beijing Financial Street Forum (FSF), China’s highest-level financial policy forum, in Kuala Lumpur today. The event marks a milestone in the China-ASEAN financial cooperation and Malaysia’s growing prominence as a regional hub for capital market activity and connectivity. The Kuala Lumpur Parallel Financial Street Forum was organised by the Export-Import Bank of China and China Galaxy Securities in Beijing and co-hosted by CGS International Securities Malaysia (CGS MY) and Bursa Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

Themed “Integrating Finance, Expertise and Commerce for High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation”, the event brought together a global representation of senior leaders comprising policy makers, financial regulators, and fund managers to exchange critical insights and action steps to strengthen financial integration and sustainable growth in relation to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The hybrid event had in-person attendance in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur, while being streamed live across both locations. In Kuala Lumpur, the Parallel Forum was graced by Yang Berhormat (YB) Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Finance Minister, in attendance with Bursa Malaysia Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed; and CGS MY’s CEO, Puan Azizah Mohd Yatim, and Deputy CEO, Mr. Alan Inn Wei Loon.
