CGS International Launches ‘Racing Towards Singularity’ Conference on AI-Driven Growth

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8, 2026 – CGS International Securities Malaysia kicked off its 18th Annual Malaysia Corporate Day themed “Racing Towards Singularity,” gathering corporate leaders, investors and officials to discuss Malaysia’s shift toward an AI-smart, high-value economy.

The event highlighted the economic singularity where AI irreversibly drives productivity, aligned with the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan’s AI Nation framework and post-ASEAN chairmanship execution phase.

Keynote speaker Tan Sri Shahril Ridza Ridzuan, Chairman of Axiata, emphasised AI as a multiplier augmenting human capabilities, creating jobs and requiring investments in people, data and infrastructure for long-term value.

CEO Khairi Shahrin Arief bin Baki noted CGS MY’s transformation into a regional investment house connecting capital to opportunities in technology and sustainability.

Panels covered Ringgit strength, carbon tax, data centres and CCUS, underscoring collaboration for innovation-led growth amid global uncertainties.
