Cheras Tops List of Most Sought-After Highrise Homes in 2025

KUALA LUMPUR — Cheras has emerged as the most sought-after location for highrise homes this year, leading demand across both affordable and mid-range price segments. According to data from PropertyGuru Group, Cheras ranks first for highrise units priced below RM300,000 and those between RM300,000 and RM1 million, followed by Puchong, KLCC, Shah Alam and Ampang.

For landed homes, Shah Alam remains the top choice for buyers seeking properties under RM1 million, with Rawang, Sepang, Klang and Puchong also ranking high in search volume.

Analysts said homebuyers are increasingly prioritising locations with good accessibility and public transport, particularly rail and MRT connectivity. The government’s extension of stamp duty exemptions for first-time buyers of homes priced below RM500,000 is expected to further support interest in these areas.
