Malaysia Launches First Lung Cancer Immunotherapy Diary to Empower Patients

Malaysia’s commitment to advancing lung health took a major step forward with the launch of the country’s first Lung Cancer Immunotherapy (IO) Treatment Diary, introduced by MSD and the Lung Cancer Network Malaysia (LCNM). The handbook aims to help patients understand their diagnosis, explore treatment options and participate actively in their care journey. Its release follows Malaysia’s WHO-backed resolution urging stronger global action in preventing, diagnosing and treating lung diseases.

LCNM President Dr. Tho Lye Mun said the diary strengthens the continuum of care by helping patients communicate more effectively with their medical teams. The National Cancer Society Malaysia welcomed the initiative, stressing that better understanding reduces fear and improves treatment continuity.

With lung cancer often diagnosed at late stages, the IO Treatment Diary provides crucial resources to help patients manage expectations and navigate immunotherapy more confidently, marking a practical step toward improved patient outcomes nationwide.
