SHAH ALAM, July 23 — Southeast Asian fintech platform Fiuu has secured a JCB Direct Acquiring licence as a Regional Acquirer, enabling it to process JCB card transactions directly across Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
The move strengthens Fiuu’s payment infrastructure by allowing the company to connect directly with JCB, reducing reliance on intermediaries while improving transaction processing, settlement efficiency and merchant support across both online and physical payment channels.
Fiuu said the direct acquiring capability will provide merchants with faster settlements, greater transaction visibility, improved payment reliability and a more consistent acceptance experience for JCB cardholders.

The announcement builds on Fiuu’s growing regional presence, having processed US$13 billion in total payment volume during FY2025, underscoring its ability to support high-volume digital commerce across Southeast Asia.
Chief Executive Officer Eng Sheng Guan said businesses expanding across the region require payment partners with strong local expertise, direct scheme connectivity and reliable operational capabilities.
“Direct acquiring with JCB strengthens our regional foundation and enables us to provide merchants with broader payment acceptance and greater confidence in serving customers across digital and physical commerce,” he said.
JCB, one of Japan’s leading global payment brands, has issued 181 million cards worldwide and is accepted by more than 72 million merchants globally.
JCB International Asia Pacific Managing Director Shimpei Yamaguchi said the partnership would expand JCB acceptance across Fiuu’s merchant network while improving payment accessibility for both businesses and cardholders throughout Southeast Asia.
Fiuu is also planning to extend its JCB direct acquiring capability to Thailand as part of its broader regional expansion strategy, reinforcing its ambition to become a leading card scheme acquirer across Southeast Asia.
