Gamuda Bhd has secured a RM1.71 billion build-only contract from a United States-based technology multinational to develop a hyperscale data centre in Port Dickson, further strengthening its position in Malaysia’s fast-growing digital infrastructure sector.
The latest award marks Gamuda’s second hyperscale data centre contract in Port Dickson this year, following a RM1.72 billion project secured in April. Construction is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2028.
The scope of work includes site infrastructure, core and shell construction, as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing fit-out works. With the new contract, Gamuda’s outstanding order book has risen to a record RM54 billion.
Year-to-date order replenishment has reached 66% of its CY26 target of RM20 billion, highlighting continued demand for the group’s construction expertise. Data centre projects now account for approximately 10% of the total order book, up from 7% previously.
Management expects data centres to remain a major growth driver, supported by additional opportunities within the Port Dickson campus. The group also continues to pursue major infrastructure projects in Malaysia, Australia and Taiwan, providing strong earnings visibility and supporting its long-term growth outlook.
