Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz via his social media account last night said Malaysia Malaysia is ranked number one in the world among developing countries.
“Overall, we are ranked 27th and this is higher than developed countries in Europe such as the Czech Republic, Portugal, and Italy. But is this true? Who said that?” he wrote on the X platform.
Last month, it was announced that Malaysia saw a massive influx of FDI of RM329.5 billion last year, the highest amount of investment in the history of the country we were told.
This week, an Indian news portal claimed Malaysia is now a top destination for semiconductor investment, sparking social media debate.
