Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) and TM-Nxera have forged a strategic partnership to advance digital transformation in Iskandar Puteri, focusing on developing AI-ready digital infrastructure.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone, with an investment of approximately RM9 billion to establish sustainable, hyper-connected infrastructure, aiming to make Iskandar Puteri the Digital and Innovation Hub for Johor.
Dato’ Idzham Mohd Hashim, CEO of IIB, emphasized that the initiative is crucial for nurturing innovation and fostering regional growth. TM-Nxera’s CEO, Bill Chang, highlighted the project’s alignment with their vision to empower digital economies and unlock immense potential for businesses in Johor and Singapore.
TM’s Group CEO, Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, reiterated their commitment to positioning Malaysia as a regional digital hub, aiming to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030.
The project supports Malaysia’s MyDIGITAL Blueprint, focusing on digital infrastructure to drive a digitally enabled government and economy. It aims to attract RM70 billion in investments by 2025, enhance workforce digital skills, and promote sustainability with a Net Zero Carbon CBD in Medini. Additionally, it will boost subsea connectivity between Johor and Singapore, fostering the growth of digital economies in both regions.
The partnership aims to transform Iskandar Puteri into a gateway to Southeast Asia, driven by innovation, sustainability, and economic prosperity. Both parties are confident that this initiative will bolster digital infrastructure and unlock exciting potential for innovation and opportunities.
