Malaysia Airlines extends Airbus maintenance contract for A330ceo fleet

SINGAPORE: Malaysia Airlines has extended its long-term Flight Hour Services (FHS) agreement with Airbus to provide maintenance support for its A330ceo fleet.

The agreement was signed between Airbus and Malaysia Airlines during the MRO Asia-Pacific event in Singapore on Sept 23.

Under the power-by-the-hour contract, Malaysia Airlines will receive integrated component services covering on-site stock, pool access, repair services and component reliability engineering.

Support will also be provided through Airbus’ engineering expertise and regional FHS representatives to assist the airline’s daily maintenance activities.

The agreement extends Airbus FHS’ role as the primary maintenance support provider for Malaysia Airlines’ A330ceo fleet, which has been supported under the programme since 2017. Support for the airline’s A330neo fleet was subsequently introduced in 2024.

Malaysia Airlines Chief Operating Officer Aida Salfaraz Ahmad Fadzil said the extension reflected the value delivered by the FHS programme in supporting the airline’s operations.

She said Airbus’ component services and technical expertise had supported the performance and reliability of the airline’s A330 fleet since 2017.

Airbus Asia-Pacific President Anand Stanley said the contract extension demonstrated the confidence placed by Malaysia Airlines in the FHS programme.

He said Airbus had worked with the airline for almost a decade to enhance maintenance support and would continue supporting the performance and reliability of its A330 fleet.

Airbus said FHS was designed to provide flexible maintenance solutions aimed at improving fleet performance and reliability while helping airlines manage operational costs.
