Malaysia among Asia’s cheapest year-end flight destinations, Agoda reveals
KUALA LUMPUR – Digital travel platform Agoda has named Malaysia one of Asia’s top three most affordable destinations for the 2025 year-end holidays. Based on bookings made between September and mid-November for travel from 20–31 December, domestic fares in Malaysia start at just RM37 on the scenic Bario–Miri route, opening doors to Sarawak’s highlands and longhouse culture. Only Thailand (RM25 Udon Thani–Bangkok) ranks cheaper, while South Korea ties with Malaysia in second place.
For international getaways, Malaysia and Indonesia again lead with flights from Johor Bahru to Phuket and Pontianak to Kuching from RM103. “Year-end is peak season, but budget options remain plentiful,” said Fabian Teja, Agoda’s Country Director for Malaysia and Brunei. With over 130,000 flight routes and millions of accommodation and activity choices, Agoda is making festive travel both accessible and memorable.
