Mastercard and AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad have launched “Spend. Tap. Win!”, Southeast Asia’s pioneering mobile-first digital blind box campaign, on 12 January 2026. Running from 22 December 2025 to 31 March 2026, the innovative gamification initiative utilises Mastercard Gamer Exchange (MGE) to offer RM168,000 in prizes, delivering instant, choice-driven rewards across lifestyle, dining, travel, entertainment, and gaming categories.
AEON Mastercard cardholders qualify for blind boxes by spending RM150 in a single foreign currency transaction (online or overseas), receiving one blind box initially and up to two additional boxes for every further RM150 spent, capped at six per cardholder. Each blind box unlocks vouchers ranging from RM50 to RM100, featuring partners such as Zus Coffee, Secret Recipe, Zalora, Shell, Spotify, Steam, Mobile Legends, PUBG, Genshin Impact, PlayStation, and a grand prize of RM2,000 in Trip.com vouchers.
The fully digitalised experience ensures seamless qualification, instant prize activation, and mobile-optimised redemption. Beena Pothen, Mastercard’s Country Manager for Malaysia and Brunei, highlighted the campaign’s focus on instant, personalised digital experiences that align with evolving consumer preferences. Janice Ong of AEON Credit emphasised the fresh excitement the blind box mechanic brings to loyalty rewards.
This collaboration sets a new benchmark for customer-centric innovation in the region, blending gamification with meaningful, culturally relevant rewards to strengthen cardholder engagement and loyalty. For details, visit the official campaign page.
