Miu Miu in Hot Waters after Buttons Falling Off RM14,500 Vest

Recently, world known fashion influencer Wisdom Kaye uploaded a controversial video on TikTok showing the buttons falling off his brand new RM14,500 Miu Miu denim vest. Social media users went on a frenzy as the prices for said brand has increased exponentially, yet the quality is allegedly to be mediocre.

Miu Miu in trouble?

TikTokers are dubbing the brand as “Temiu Temiu” as they say the Italian luxury brand reflects the ultra affordable online e-retailer Temu. It seems that the fashion influencer not only had one defective vest and another defective jacket. The replacement the brand sent him appears to also be defected.

Gen-Z target audience

Previously, the brand was not entirely mainstream as their sister brand, Prada. But with clever design choices and marketing techniques, it appealed to the Gen-Z crowd. However, as it is reflective towards the entire “luxury” fashion industry, quality seems to be a thing of the past.

Another TikToker decided to take matters into his own hands by visiting an actual Miu Miu store. Unfortunately, again, the footage shows the exact jacket having similar problems as the one Wisdom Kaye purchased.

Regardless, several comments are pointing out that buying vintage designer clothes could currently be one of the few ways to receive a quality garment.
