MMC Port Holdings Sdn Bhd (MMC Ports), Malaysia’s largest port operator, has appointed Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof as its new CEO, effective 1 December 2024. With over 30 years of experience in corporate strategy, finance, and port management, Dato’ Azman previously served as CEO of Northport (Malaysia) Bhd since 2016.
To fill Dato’ Azman’s role at Northport, Fakhrul Azhar Tajudin has been named the new CEO, while G. Ulaganathan assumes the role of COO, both effective 1 December 2024. Fakhrul Azhar brings 25 years of experience in port operations, and Ulaganathan has a 28-year career in commercial and logistics services.
The appointments aim to strengthen Northport’s position and drive growth and innovation under its “Reinventing Northport” strategy. MMC Ports operates five major ports in Malaysia and is involved in various port-related businesses, including cruise terminals and logistics services.
