KUALA LUMPUR, 15 August 2025 – In a bold move to accelerate the growth of pickleball in the region, Mothership, in strategic partnership with global paddle brand Six Zero, today officially launched one of Malaysia’s most advanced pickleball ecosystem. Located in Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, the facility features international tournament-standard courts featuring pro-grade surfacing, Selkirk nets, and professional lighting with real-time A.I. performance analytics, offering a cutting-edge environment designed to support structured training, competitive development, and inclusive community play.
The collaboration marks a significant step forward in elevating the game locally. By bringing Six Zero’s world-leading paddle innovation and international expertise together with Mothership’s commitment to structured player development, the facility delivers a first-of-its-kind experience tailored for both aspiring athletes and everyday enthusiasts.
“Our partnership with Six Zero is grounded in a shared ambition to raise the bar for pickleball in Malaysia and build a platform that can support national and regional excellence,” said Janet Teo, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Mothership.
“We wanted to create a space where every player, from curious beginners to driven competitors, feels seen, supported, and challenged. With the right tools, the right environment, and the right people, we believe great things can happen. Partnering with Six Zero gives us the global strength and shared vision to take this mission even further,” she added.
As part of the collaboration, Six Zero has unveiled two new high-performance paddles designed for enhanced control and precision:
• The Black Opal, featuring a patent-pending floating solid core, Power Gel layer, and Shock Shield handle for balanced power and dwell.
• The Ruby Pro, built with a 12-gauge (mm) cell core, 45-degree Aramid fibre layering, and Diamond Tough texture to support explosive counters and elite-level play.
Available exclusively at Mothership and Picklefox, these paddles give Malaysian players early access to Six Zero’s latest innovations.
“We’re incredibly proud to be part of Mothership’s journey in shaping the future of pickleball. This is not just about great courts or high-tech tools. It is about building a space where passion, purpose, and performance come together. Mothership is setting a new pace for the sport in Malaysia, and we are excited to grow the game alongside them,” said Dale Young, Director and Founder of Six Zero Pickleball.
What truly sets the facility apart is the LaunchPad Programme, Malaysia’s first structured talent development initiative for pickleball. Sponsored by U Mobile, LaunchPad is designed to grow the sport from the grassroots up, offering players a clear, data-led pathway to sharpen their game and rise through the ranks.
As part of the LaunchPad ecosystem, U Mobile plays a critical role in enabling AI-driven performance analytics. This technology is powered by U Mobile’s 5G Office Broadband, reflecting the brand’s deeper commitment to cultivating future talent and driving competitive excellence through innovation.
Supporting this vision is the sponsor, Leapmotor Malaysia. Ranked as China’s fastest-growing new electric vehicle start-up, Leapmotor is committed to providing accessible and innovative mobility. This vision is reflected in its smart and intuitive user centric vehicle, the C10 that echoes the same spirit of innovation that powers the Launchpad programme; enabling individuals to take a leap and reach their dreams.
To mark the launch, Mothership will host its first official tournament on Saturday, 16 August 2025, starting at 8.00 a.m to 9.00 p.m. The event includes four competitive categories – Men’s Doubles Intermediate, Women’s Doubles Intermediate, Mixed Doubles Intermediate, and Youth Singles for ages 10 to 15. Players will compete for cash prizes, exclusive merchandise, and vouchers worth up to RM75,000.
The tournament’s most prestigious reward is a fully sponsored five-month elite training programme under the LaunchPad system, awarded to champions across all categories. Additionally, winners in the intermediate categories will receive exclusive access to the all-new 2025 Leapmotor C10 for a one-month driving experience.
Operating daily from 7:00 a.m. to midnight, Mothership is as accessible as it is ambitious. Whether a newcomer picking up a paddle for the first time or a national-level athlete preparing for competition, every player is supported through leagues, clinics, and community events that cultivate both skill and camaraderie.
Mothership stands not only as a facility but as a vision for the future of pickleball in the region. It is a hub that bridges grassroots participation with elite performance, grounded in global best practices and local passion.
