OIB Expands Sustainable Housing
Oriental Interest Berhad (OIB) has officially launched Gardens Idaman, its latest affordable housing development under Selangor’s Rumah Idaman programme, strengthening the Group’s presence in the state’s affordable housing segment.
Located across 11.226 acres, the RM163.8 million development comprises 616 semi-furnished apartment units priced from RM250,000 to RM270,000. Each 1,002 sq ft unit features three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two carparks, with facilities including a Central Park, jogging track, outdoor gym, children’s playground, futsal and pickleball courts, multipurpose hall, kindergarten and surau.
Scheduled for completion in 2030, Gardens Idaman is positioned as a gated and guarded community targeting first-time homebuyers and growing families.
The project has also received Provisional GreenRE Bronze certification, alongside OIB’s upcoming Saujana Idaman development in Dengkil. Sustainability features include water-efficient fittings, lower-carbon construction materials, energy-efficient lifts, low-VOC paints and natural daylight optimisation.
Based on GreenRE assessment, Gardens Idaman is expected to achieve 30.61% energy savings against the baseline and reduce operational carbon emissions by approximately 337 tonnes of CO₂e annually.
