  • The Malacca private hospital earns international recognition for patient-centred care.
  • The accolade affirms its standing as a trusted name in Malaysian private healthcare.
  • OMSMC celebrates its 10th anniversary with a health awareness event.

Malacca, 23 June 2025 – Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre (OMSMC) has been listed in Newsweek’s Global Hospital Rating 2025, a recognition that cements its commitment to deliver world-class and high-quality, patient-focused care.

OMSMC, among the three hospitals in Malaysia featured in the rating, earned a 4-star rating for its quality healthcare and patient-centered services.

The international rating by Newsweek in partnership with global data firm Statista, evaluates hospitals performance in five categories: provision of care, timeliness of care, patient experience and safety, IT and healthcare technology, and employer attractiveness.

OMSMC – Global Hospital Rating

OMSMC earned outstanding results particularly in the areas of timeliness of care, patient experience and safety, and the use of advanced healthcare technology — reflecting the hospital’s focus on efficient, innovative, and compassionate care delivery.

The hospital envisions to be the leader for value-base, high-quality healthcare in the region, as well as commit to wholeheartedly meeting the needs and add value to every patient, by
providing quality healthcare and helping each to better health.

OMSMC Chief Executive Officer Lee Soon Teck said the recognition is a testament to its unwavering commitment to deliver exceptional quality and personalised care.

“We are honoured by this recognition, which motivates us to raise the bar even further. Our hospital excelled in timeliness, patient safety, and using advanced healthcare technology.

“OMSMC will continue to innovate, improve, and grow, ensuring that OMSMC remains a trusted healthcare partner for all,” he added.

The Global Hospital Rating is designed to help hospitals identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Statista puts all submitted surveys through a strict evaluation and validation process, ensuring the quality of the data.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with its 10th anniversary, OMSMC is organising a community health event, “Oh, My Health,” in collaboration with Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malacca City Entrepreneur. The event, set for 13 July (Sunday) from 9am to 4pm at the hospital lobby, includes health screenings, talks, a blood donation drive, fun games, exhibitions, and a colouring contest for children.
