KUALA LUMPUR, 14 November 2024 – One of the most professional exhibitions for packaging container manufacturing and applications in Southeast Asia, WEPACK ASEAN 2024, returns to Malaysia for its second edition at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), from November 14-16, 2024.
Organized by Reed Exhibitions (RX) in collaboration with MACCA (Malaysian Corrugated Carton Manufacturers’ Association), this event is expected to welcome over 5,000 delegates from around the globe to explore and learn about the latest industry technologies, sustainable solutions, and transformative growth opportunities.
With an emphasis on supporting the industry’s move toward digitization, automation, and eco-friendly packaging, WEPACK ASEAN 2024 will offer an unparalleled platform for stakeholders across the supply chain – from raw paper materials and packaging processing equipment to sustainable finished packaging products. Featuring over 120 exhibitors and new production demonstrations, this event underscores Southeast Asia’s rising influence in the global packaging and printing market.
Josephine Lee, Chief Operating Officer of RX Greater China, said, “In light of the strategic shifts within the global manufacturing industry, Southeast Asia has become one of the world’s most dynamic and promising regions for economic development. Malaysia, a key player in the Southeast Asian packaging market, is experiencing significant growth and transformation, especially in the food and beverage, e-commerce, and healthcare sectors.”
“The Southeast Asian packaging market is projected for robust growth, with regional GDP expected to expand by 4.7% in 2025-2026. As the industry adapts to shifting consumer demands, WEPACK ASEAN 2024 addresses pressing challenges by highlighting innovations in smart packaging equipment, digital printing technology, and eco-friendly software application, essential for companies aiming to gain a competitive edge and build resilience in an evolving marketplace.”
WEPACK ASEAN 2024 will facilitate key insights, match-making opportunities, and international networking to empower businesses, strengthen market vitality, and drive innovation across the industry. This year’s event aims to support the industry’s move towards digitization, automation, and sustainable practices, establishing Southeast Asia’s pivotal role in shaping the future of packaging and printing globally.”
Top suppliers from around the world will be showcasing cutting-edge processes and sustainable technologies, while hands-on demonstrations will provide attendees with valuable insights into the latest advancements in the industry. Through forums, exhibitions, and site visits, participants will also be able to explore practical applications of emerging trends, from eco-friendly
packaging to digital transformation strategies that enhance operational efficiency.
The event also marks a special milestone as MACCMA (Malaysian Corrugated Carton Manufacturers’ Association) celebrates its 33rd anniversary, coinciding with the opening day of WEPACK ASEAN 2024. Henry Low, Chairman of MACCMA, remarked, “Our partnership with Reed Exhibitions continues to elevate industry standards, enabling the corrugated carton sector to meet the dynamic demands of Southeast Asia’s expanding market.”
