Wikimedia Deutschland Collaborates with DataStax and NVIDIA AI for Advanced Wikidata Embedding
Wikimedia Deutschland, with DataStax’s AI platform built on NVIDIA AI, has vectorized over 10 million Wikidata articles in under three days. This enables developers to access Wikidata, the world’s largest multilingual, open-source knowledge graph, through an embedded vectorized database. The collaboration streamlines real-time updates for over 114 million multilingual entries contributed by volunteers worldwide. By integrating scalable vector embedding and multilingual search capabilities, the initiative supports open-source AI/ML development, enhancing accessibility and efficiency for developers while advancing the global accessibility of open knowledge.
Wikimedia Deutschland’s partnership with DataStax has enhanced its processes, enabling faster and more accurate insights for the community. Lydia Pintscher, Portfolio Lead for Wikidata, highlighted DataStax’s scalability, ease of use, and advanced embedding models that foster AI development for public benefit. Ed Anuff, DataStax’s Chief Product Officer, praised the initiative for improving accessibility to Wikidata, the world’s largest knowledge graph, emphasizing its potential to inspire innovation and public good through the open-source community.
