World Bank Continues Backing Malaysia’s Digital Government Push
The World Bank has reaffirmed its support for Malaysia’s efforts to advance its digital government agenda, focusing on efficiency and improved public service delivery.
World Bank country manager for Malaysia, Judith Green said the institution greatly values the trust placed in it by the Malaysian government and looks forward to continuing the partnership in the years ahead.
She spoke at the launch of the Malaysia GovTech Flagship Report titled ‘Building Malaysia’s Future Government: Unlocking Public Sector Productivity with GovTech’
“Through these four pillars, Malaysia can ensure GovTech becomes not only a tool for efficiency, but also a catalyst for sustainable growth and shared prosperity. The momentum is already here… the task now is to sustain it and deliver the ‘digital dividends’ for all Malaysians,” she said.
Collaboration includes policy guidance, technical expertise, and funding support to enhance digital infrastructure and governance frameworks. The initiative aims to modernise services and boost economic competitiveness.
Experts say sustained investment in digital transformation is crucial for long-term growth. Strengthening digital systems is expected to improve transparency, reduce inefficiencies, and support Malaysia’s transition into a more technology-driven economy.
Malaysia’s digital push gains continued support from World Bank.
