Airbus Helicopters’ commitment to deepening its partnerships and presence in Malaysia, particularly in the military sector, reflects the company’s strategic focus on expanding its market share in the region.
The Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters Malaysia, Axel de Pascal, emphasized Malaysia’s importance as a market and highlighted the potential for increased military demand, particularly in areas such as special operations, search-and-rescue, and tactical transport.
The focus on the H225M helicopter underscores Airbus’ confidence in its combat-proven capabilities to meet the diverse mission requirements of military forces. With ten military forces worldwide currently contracted for the H225M and over 170 units delivered, Airbus is well-positioned to offer a reliable solution for Malaysia’s defense needs.
“We expect an uptick in military demand for special operations, search-and-rescue, and tactical transport within Malaysia and regionally. This is where Airbus’ combat-proven multi-role H225M is best suited for a wide range of mission requirements,” says Axel de Pascal, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters Malaysia.
The existing fleet of H225M helicopters operated by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) underscores the aircraft’s versatility and reliability in various missions, including humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts.
The recognition of RMAF’s H225M fleet as the world’s highest military flyer per aircraft further validates the aircraft’s performance and suitability for Malaysia’s defense requirements.
Airbus’ readiness to offer the H225M for consideration under Budget 2024 highlights its proactive approach to meeting the evolving needs of the Malaysian military.
The potential expansion of Airbus’ footprint in Malaysia through partnerships and ecosystem development indicates a long-term commitment to supporting Malaysia’s defense capabilities.
