Bursa closed lower on Friday

Bursa Malaysia closed lower on Friday, with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) dropping 5.92 points or 0.36% to 1,635.74. The market saw cautious trading ahead of US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s speech.

Bursa closed lower

Losers outnumbered gainers 888 to 255, leading to a negative market breadth. Turnover decreased to RM2.80 billion from RM3.08 billion the previous day.

Notable decliners included Nestle, Malaysian Pacific Industries, MSM, and Notion VTec, while F&N, Warisan TC, Carlsberg, and Mega First saw gains. Despite Friday’s decline, the FBM KLCI gained 0.73% over the week.

On the other hand, F&N rose 32 sen to RM29.82, Warisan TC gained 32 sen to RM1.49, Carlsberg added 16 sen to RM19.10 and Mega First climbed 10 sen to RM4.55 but Bursa closed lower.
