CARSOME, Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform, has launched the Women Take the Wheel initiative in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand to improve the car ownership experience for women. The initiative includes a 30-day money-back guarantee for female customers during the campaign period, as well as the introduction of specialists who can facilitate the customer experience end-to-end.
According to CARSOME data, there has been a 308% increase in the number of female car buyers in 2022 compared to the previous year. Responding to feedback from its female customers, the Women Take the Wheel initiative aims to empower women with a differentiated experience and offerings, considering their needs and challenges when purchasing pre-owned cars.
Juliet Zhu, CARSOME Group President & Chief Financial Officer, stated that the Women Take the Wheel initiative is the company’s way of supporting women in making informed and confident decisions throughout their car ownership journey. She added that CARSOME is committed to driving a more inclusive environment for balanced representation in the automotive industry.
As part of the initiative, CARSOME will pilot an elevated customer experience in Malaysia with 11 customer specialists at selected Inspection and Experience Centers. These consultants will guide female customers to provide them with a seamless experience from the test drive to car ownership. After sales support will also be available through CARSOME’s digital touchpoints.
The Women Take the Wheel initiative offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for female customers during the campaign period and free one-month life insurance from Fi Life, one of CARSOME’s partners. Parents can also benefit from a Children’s Corner, which is being piloted at PJ Automall.
At the launch of the initiative, Juliet sat down with digital entrepreneurs Malek Ali, Founder of BFM and Fi Life; Sherry Sheriff, Co-founder of Wahine Capital; and Vanessa Gomes, Senior Writer at Digital Edge for a fireside chat titled ‘Elevating the Women Consumer Experience.’
Female customers interested in taking advantage of the offers can visit the CARSOME Autofair 2023 from 17 to 19 March 2023 at CARSOME PJ Automall. All CARSOME Certified cars booked during the Autofair will be eligible for discounts of up to RM8,000, two-years’ worth of warranty, and many other free gifts.
