Chanel has been in scrutiny after their alleged quality decline and price increases. The luxury French fashion house still has a following from fans and wealthy individuals. But as of late, their stores have reportedly been emptier than usual. During the pre-covid era, their stores used to be packed to the brim.
Bloomberg states that the brand has had a 16% increase in sales this year. However, some are questioning the numbers the brand is releasing as they are not a public listed company. But the brand is notorious for customers complaining about their alleged quality decline.
A Redditor states that her mom purchased the bag just last month, and now the scuffs are more than apparent. Furthermore, her mom barely used the bag and kept it for special occasions. The user adds that the bag has been used a handful of times. They are now contacting their sales associate.
Others are accusing the Redditor’s mother of using darker colored clothes against the bag, which may cause a color transfer to happen. But, there are those who had similar experiences citing that this is more of a “wear and tear” situation. Typically, this may happen to bags that have been used for several years.
Some claim that Chanel bags from the 1990s are made of better quality than ones that are made today. Ironically, the prices are significantly different as well. In the past, these bags were a lot more affordable than they are today.
