Chinese Actress Fan Bingbing Awarded Datukship in Melaka, Pledges to Boost Tourism
MELAKA – Internationally acclaimed Chinese actress Datuk Fan Bingbing has been conferred the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), carrying the title “Datuk,” in recognition of her role in promoting the state to global audiences. Fan, best known for her roles in X-Men: Days of Future Past and I Am Not Madame Bovary, received the award during the investiture ceremony marking the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Mohd Ali Rustam’s birthday on Sunday (Aug 24).
Expressing gratitude, Fan said she would return to Melaka next month to further promote tourism. She now joins international icons Datuk Shah Rukh Khan and Datuk Jackie Chan, previously honoured for similar contributions.
