The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has identified two more companies suspected of bribing a project manager to secure data centre construction projects. The manager allegedly demanded 3% of project values, leaking tender prices to favour companies paying bribes. Payments were made in stages based on project progress, with millions still unpaid. During a raid at his Petaling Jaya home, MACC found nearly RM1 million cash burning in an attempt to destroy evidence, plus RM7.5 million in cash, luxury watches, and jewellery. The manager, his wife, and two others were arrested over the Johor project worth about RM180 million. –
