Don’t buy one, owner says of electric cars after 3-hour wait for charging

In a viral video shared by Mcar Show on Facebook, an electric vehicle (EV) owner in China issued a stark warning to potential buyers: “Please don’t buy an EV. I’ve been waiting in line for 3 hours and I don’t know how long I still need to wait.” The video, showing the woman and other EV drivers waiting for their turn at a charging station, highlights significant frustrations with the current charging infrastructure.

The location of the charging station was not specified, but the user’s experience has sparked considerable discussion on social media. Many users expressed their skepticism about the practicality of EVs. One commented, “5 minutes to fill up gas, hours to charge battery,” reflecting on the time disparity between traditional and electric vehicle refueling.

Others criticized EVs as being problematic and unsuitable for everyday use. “EV is not just expensive but it comes with A LOT of problems!” one user remarked. Another added, “EV is what the rich drive to the market for groceries, and they’ll drive a Vellfire for long distance.”

A Malaysian netizen also weighed in, predicting that “it’s just a matter of time before Malaysian EV users experience the same thing.” This comment underscores growing concerns about whether the current EV infrastructure can meet the needs of users globally.
