Ex-Minister Probed by MACC Over RM5 Million Bribes and Lamborghini

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has recorded the statement of a former minister suspected of receiving approximately RM5 million in bribes from a property development company, along with a luxury Lamborghini allegedly gifted by a billboard firm. The bribes are linked to billboard projects and questionable land transfers in Kuala Lumpur, including parcels originally gazetted for a surau but diverted to a proxy company.

Ex-Minister Probed

The ex-minister appeared at MACC headquarters in Putrajaya on December 29. Statements from 16 witnesses, including government officers and company owners, have been taken. MACC Chief Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed an investigation paper opened under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009. No assets have been seized yet.
