Malaysia’s FBM KLCI ended positively, supported by late-session bargain hunting primarily from foreign funds amid improving global sentiment. Wall Street rebounded sharply after President Trump announced he would not impose new tariffs on Europe nor use military force to acquire Greenland, instead revealing a framework for a future deal on the Arctic region.

The US 10-year Treasury yield eased slightly to 4.247%. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index closed higher despite choppy trading triggered by a sharp sell-off in Japanese bonds, with yields hitting record highs before stabilizing on reassuring comments from Japanese officials. Meanwhile, gold surged past USD4,800 per ounce and continued climbing, signalling ongoing capital flight from US-denominated assets. Analysts expect the FBM KLCI to trade within the 1,700-1,715 range today. S: Rakuten
