Frontken Corporation Bhd delivered in-line first-half FY26 results, with its Taiwan semiconductor business continuing to anchor earnings while Malaysia’s oil and gas operations provided additional support.
The group expects stronger momentum in the second half, driven by AI-related demand, capacity expansion, and resilient maintenance activities.
Technology
Frontken’s technology segment remained the key earnings driver in 1HFY26, supported by sustained demand from its Taiwan semiconductor subsidiary.
Growth is expected to strengthen further in 2HFY26 as Plant 2 expansion progresses ahead of schedule and additional cleaning lines enter operation. The company is also positioned to benefit from its key foundry customer’s 2nm production ramp, driven by rising AI-related semiconductor demand.
Management is exploring further capacity expansion through a new land acquisition near its existing facilities. Analysts believe these initiatives provide multi-year earnings visibility and support a higher valuation despite ongoing foreign exchange challenges.
Oil & Gas
Frontken’s oil and gas segment continued to deliver solid growth, supported by higher maintenance and production-related activities in Malaysia. Revenue from the segment rose sharply year-on-year, helping diversify the group’s earnings alongside its semiconductor business.
Demand for specialised maintenance and engineering services is expected to remain resilient as energy market fundamentals stay relatively stable. Although quarterly performance softened due to lower supply-related sales, management expects continued momentum over the coming quarters.
Analysts remain positive on the segment’s outlook, citing sustained maintenance spending and production activities as key drivers of future earnings growth.
