Growing Consumer Demand for Tech in SEA: Lazada

The LazMall Brands Future Forum (BFF) 2023 event featured key insights from James Dong, CEO of Lazada Group, who expressed confidence in Southeast Asia’s digital commerce industry’s growth, citing a significant increase in monthly active buyers on LazMall.

Jason Chen, CBO of Lazada Group, highlighted the growing consumer demand for engagement and technology across the region, emphasizing the success of LazMall’s store membership program. Additionally, Howard Wang, CTO of Lazada Group, unveiled the launch of Lazada’s AI-powered Skin Test technology, offering skin diagnosis and product recommendations based on the results.



Technology in Demand

The forum included panel discussions on topics like AI in retail and leveraging the Southeast Asian eCommerce ecosystem. Notable speakers shared insights into industry trends, the adoption of AI marketing solutions, and the importance of talent development in utilizing AI effectively. The event also honored top-performing brands on the LazMall channel, with Nike, Unilever, and Samsung winning the LazMall Brand of the Year Award.

LazMall BFF serves as Lazada Group’s initiative to build a thriving eCommerce ecosystem. The conference attracted over 900 participants and provided opportunities to explore Lazada’s tools and services. The platform continues to collaborate with international and local brand partners to offer exclusive deals to online customers. In Malaysia, Lazada will host the 9.9 Mega Brands Sale from September 9 to 13, offering various discounts and promotions.
