January Hearing for Rosmah’s Mareva Injunction

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28, 2026, The High Court has fixed Jan. 7, 2027, to hear the Mareva injunction application filed by 1MDB and 10 other companies against Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, in a lawsuit involving luxury goods worth more than US$346 million (RM1.41 billion).

Judicial Commissioner Datuk Muhammad Adam @ Edward Abdullah said the court would also deliver its decision on the injunction on the same day. The order, if granted, would prevent Rosmah, wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, from disposing of assets including cash, shares, real estate, and jewellery pending the disposal of the suit.

Mareva Injunction

The plaintiffs include five 1MDB subsidiaries — 1MDB Energy Holdings Limited, 1MDB Energy Limited, 1MDB Energy (Langat) Limited, Global Diversified Investment Company Limited, and SRC International Sdn Bhd — alongside Affinity Equity International Partners Limited, Alsen Chance Holdings Limited, BlackRock Commodities (Global) Limited, Blackstone Asia Real Estate Partners Limited, and Brightstone Jewellery Limited.

They are seeking a court declaration that they are the lawful owners of the luxury goods allegedly in Rosmah’s possession. The trial has been scheduled between June and July 2027. Rosmah, represented by counsel Sheena Stephanie Sebastian, has denied wrongdoing.
