SHANGHAI, Sept 26 — Huawei unveiled the world’s most powerful SuperPoDs and SuperClusters during its HUAWEI CONNECT 2025 conference in Shanghai. In his keynote, Rotating Chairman Eric Xu introduced the Atlas 950 SuperPoD with 8,192 Ascend NPUs and the Atlas 960 SuperPoD with 15,488 Ascend NPUs. These next-generation systems boast industry-leading computing power, memory capacity, and interconnect bandwidth.
Huawei also revealed its Atlas 950 SuperCluster, equipped with over 500,000 Ascend NPUs, and the Atlas 960 SuperCluster, surpassing one million NPUs, setting a new benchmark for large-scale AI computing infrastructure.
Complementing this, Huawei introduced the TaiShan 950 SuperPoD, the world’s first general-purpose SuperPoD, designed to serve as an alternative to mainframes and high-end database servers.
A key breakthrough is Huawei’s UnifiedBus 2.0 interconnect protocol, which overcomes cable limitations to ensure high-speed, reliable connections across massive computing systems. Huawei aims to support global AI growth with unmatched computing solutions.
