The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, through the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), hosted the 6th International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) from August 20-21, 2024. The theme, “Accelerating Energy Transition Through Innovation,” emphasizes the nation’s commitment to achieving its energy transition goals. Key initiatives include increasing renewable energy capacity to 40% by 2035 and 70% by 2050, reducing coal-based power generation, enhancing grid resilience through digital technology, and promoting cross-border renewable energy trade.
New measures announced include expanding access to green electricity, transitioning to a market-based system, diversifying renewable energy sources, and accelerating energy storage implementation.
