Malaysia Ranks 10th in Global Peace Index 2024, Second Safest in Asia

Malaysia has achieved global recognition as one of the safest countries in the world, ranking 10th in the Global Peace Index 2024 & World Risk Report. In the Asian region, Malaysia now holds the position of the second safest country, just behind Singapore. This announcement was shared by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, in a Facebook post yesterday, where he praised the achievement and congratulated the nation.

Congratulations! A very proud achievement for Malaysia.

“We have been named among the 10 safest countries in the world according to the Global Peace Index 2024, and second in Asia after Singapore.

This achievement shows that the continuous efforts by the Government and all citizens in maintaining peace, security, and stability in the country have borne fruit.

This success is also a manifestation of the cooperation, tolerance, and spirit of unity shown by all levels of society. May this achievement serve as motivation to continue maintaining peace and harmony in the country,” he wrote.

Other countries in the top 20 of the Global Peace Index include Iceland, Ireland, Austria, New Zealand, Switzerland, Portugal, Denmark, and Japan — demonstrating Malaysia’s strong global standing in peace and security.
