Malaysian High School Team Makes History as First SEA Semifinalist in $101M XPRIZE Healthspan Competition

On May 12, 2025, QuestX Incubator announced that the BIOARMOR Team, comprising 16 high school students from Dwi Emas, Sri Emas, and MITstem International Schools in Malaysia, became the first high school team from Malaysia and Southeast Asia to be named a semifinalist in the $101 million XPRIZE Healthspan competition. Co-sponsored by Hevolution Foundation and SOLVE FSHD, the competition focuses on therapeutics to extend healthy human lifespan by restoring muscle, cognitive, and immune function. Mentored by University of Malaya and Cliniva Research experts, BIOARMOR stood out among over 600 teams from 58 countries, securing one of 40 semifinalist spots and a $250,000 award. Supported by QuestX Incubator, SpaceQuest Asia, and Asia School of Business, the team’s success highlights the impact of youth innovation and mentorship in addressing global health challenges.
