Maxim E-hailing conducted a study on the Malaysian car market, focusing on the preferences of its partner-drivers. The most popular car color among drivers is white (31%), followed by silver (27%), black (19%), grey (15%), and blue (8%). White is preferred for its ability to conceal dirt and reflect heat.
The most common driver names are Muhammad, Abdul, and Nur. Most drivers (56%) are aged between 21 and 35, with 26% aged 36-45, and 18% aged 46-65. The top car brands used by drivers are Perodua, Proton, Toyota, Honda, and Mitsubishi, with Perodua being the most popular due to its affordability and low maintenance costs.
The data, gathered from registration and monthly updates, highlights that a typical Maxim driver is likely named Muhammad, aged 21-35, and drives a white Perodua.
“I drive a Perodua Bezza, because it’s very efficient as an e-hailing car. I spend most of the day driving because I’m a full-time Maxim partner-driver. Bezza is a very economical car: it has low maintenance costs, it’s fuel-efficient and equipped with modern technology, and you can easily access any needed repair or maintenance services,” comments one of Maxim’s partner-drivers, Sufyaan Yazi, 32 years old.
