MSM Malaysia Set to Appoint Former CFO Dr Mazatul ‘Aini as New Group CEO

Mazatul ‘Aini, who resigned as group CFO in August 2024 to join a financial institution, previously held the CFO post from December 2022. She returns after a brief stint away, following garden leave in 2023-2024 for an internal probe. Her appointment ensures continuity as the sugar producer tackles raw sugar price volatility, currency swings, and margin pressures in the regulated market.

She succeeds acting GCEO Hasni Ahmad, whose contract ended December 31, 2025. Industry watchers praise her financial acumen for bolstering cost controls and strategy. Photo: MSM
