MSM Malaysia Set to Appoint Former CFO Dr Mazatul 'Aini as New Group CEO
KUALA LUMPUR – MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd is poised to name Dr Mazatul ‘Aini Shahar Abdul Malek Shahar as its new group chief executive officer (GCEO), sources say. The announcement via Bursa Malaysia filing is expected as early as tomorrow, with her assuming the role from Tuesday.
Mazatul ‘Aini, who resigned as group CFO in August 2024 to join a financial institution, previously held the CFO post from December 2022. She returns after a brief stint away, following garden leave in 2023-2024 for an internal probe. Her appointment ensures continuity as the sugar producer tackles raw sugar price volatility, currency swings, and margin pressures in the regulated market.
She succeeds acting GCEO Hasni Ahmad, whose contract ended December 31, 2025. Industry watchers praise her financial acumen for bolstering cost controls and strategy. Photo: MSM
