KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 (Reuters) – A Malaysian court on Friday sentenced former Prime Minister Najib Razak to 15 years in prison after convicting him on multiple counts of abuse of power and money laundering linked to the multibillion-dollar scandal at state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The judge imposed 15 years’ imprisonment for each of the four abuse of power charges and five years for each of the 21 money laundering charges, with all sentences to run concurrently. This adds to the jail time Najib is already serving from a separate 1MDB-related conviction.
