Neurons Asia helps firms turn neurodiversity into workplace strength

Neurons Asia is helping Malaysian organisations build inclusive workplaces through cognitive profiling, training and research collaboration with UTAR.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian neurodiversity solutions provider Neurons Asia Sdn Bhd is helping organisations better understand employees’ cognitive differences and unlock their potential through evidence-based profiling, training and workplace consulting.

Incubated under PETRONAS Innovation Garage (PING), the company aims to translate greater awareness of neurodiversity into practical workplace solutions, including improved communication, employee development and more inclusive working environments.

An estimated one in five people is neurodivergent, with differences in how individuals think, learn, process information and communicate often going unrecognised in workplaces.

Neurons Asia uses Genius Finder®, an evidence-based cognitive profiling tool developed by UK-based Genius Within, to identify individual strengths, executive functioning capabilities and work preferences.

The profiling is intended to help employers understand how employees work best and identify appropriate workplace adjustments. It is not designed to provide medical diagnoses.

The company has also signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) to establish a research framework examining neurodiversity among Malaysian university students and working adults.

The collaboration is expected to combine UTAR’s academic research expertise with Neurons Asia’s industry experience to develop a stronger Malaysian evidence base and practical solutions suited to local needs.

Neurons Asia founder and chief executive officer Shahirah binti Abdol Raman said organisations needed to move beyond awareness towards understanding individual differences and applying that knowledge in everyday management.

“Awareness matters, but organisations also need practical tools, better information and the confidence to act on what they learn,” she said.
