What are the two most recent top Proton models in Malaysia?
PROTON appointed Grand Motors as Brunei’s official Proton e.MAS distributor, expanding its regional EV presence while supporting Brunei’s net-zero ambitions and strengthening Malaysian-made electric vehicle exports.
PROTON has strengthened its regional electric vehicle (EV) expansion by appointing Grand Motors Sdn Bhd as the official distributor of Proton e.MAS in Brunei Darussalam. The move makes Brunei the second export market for the Malaysian EV brand after Singapore, reinforcing PROTON’s strategy to expand its new energy vehicle (NEV) presence across ASEAN.
Grand Motors, which has more than four decades of experience in Brunei’s automotive industry, will oversee sales, marketing, customer support and after-sales services for Proton e.MAS. The company will also operate a dedicated showroom and service centre to provide a complete EV ownership experience..
PROTON International Corporation Chief Executive Officer Edmund Lim Meng Thong said the appointment marks another milestone in the company’s effort to grow its future mobility business beyond Malaysia. He added that Brunei’s commitment to sustainable transport and rising demand for modern, safe and practical vehicles make it an ideal market for Proton e.MAS.
The introduction of Proton e.MAS also supports Brunei’s ambition to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2035 through wider EV adoption. PROTON said the partnership combines its EV expertise with Grand Motors’ local market knowledge, while PAD Motors Sdn Bhd will remain the authorised distributor for the brand’s internal combustion engine models in Brunei.
