Selangor MB Denounces Viral WhatsApp Allegations Against Aide as Malicious

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16 — The Selangor Menteri Besar’s Office has dismissed viral WhatsApp allegations targeting one of its officers, describing them as “clearly malicious and politically motivated.” The claims, circulated in a newly created group named “MB Selangor,” were labelled by the office as defamatory, misleading, and without factual basis.

The WhatsApp group, run by an administrator identifying as “Madani,” included state assemblymen, journalists, and party leaders.

Selangor MB Denies

It shared unverified accusations about the aide’s lifestyle, sudden wealth, ownership of a RM3 million bungalow, luxury travel, and appointments to state-linked agencies.

The office suggested the timing of the circulation aimed to distract from Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari’s Selangor Budget 2026 presentation. The aide, whose identity remains undisclosed, will lodge a report with authorities. The administration reaffirmed its focus on state development, warning against “immature politics” and the spread of false perceptions.
