PETALING JAYA: The Selangor government is prepared to facilitate and speed up all land-related matters involving the proposed Petaling Jaya government hospital, says Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari.
He said the proposed site, which has been accepted by the Health Ministry, is suitable in terms of accessibility, land cost, capacity and proximity to surrounding communities. The site, currently occupied by a modern sports complex in Taman Medan, will allow the hospital to operate with a 500-bed capacity using a vertical development concept similar to Hospital Ampang.
Amirudin said the design would optimise land use and reduce costs for the ministry without requiring a large land area.
He added that a site visit involving the Health Ministry, state agencies, the Petaling Jaya City Council and the Petaling District Office will be conducted this week following the latest coordination meeting held on May 14.
