Selangor Showcases Rail Hub Achievements at InnoTrans 2026

BERLIN, Sept 29, 2026, The Selangor State Government, through Invest Selangor Berhad, marked a major milestone at InnoTrans 2026 with the official launch of the Selangor Rail Industry Hub, positioning the state as Southeast Asia’s premier center for localized train assembly, system integration, and workforce development.

Officiated by State Executive Council member YB Ng Sze Han, the launch highlighted Selangor’s role as Malaysia’s rail heartland, home to flagship projects such as the 203 km Kita Selangor Rail Line. The Hub, located in Hulu Selangor, will immediately operationalize Phase 1 at SIRIM Berhad’s premises, providing technical validation under Malaysia Railway Industry Standards (MRIS).

Key partnerships were sealed with SIRIM Berhad, MMC Engineering Berhad, Pecca Leather, and Xcel Itech Sdn Bhd. These alliances will drive local train assembly, rail seating and upholstery training, and simulator development, strengthening Selangor’s supply chain resilience.

Rail Hub

The Hub’s framework covers assembly, proof-of-concept integration, simulator development, and localisation, supported by the Rail Teaching Factory and Selangor Talent Action Plan for Rail Industry (STAPRI). Together, these initiatives aim to build a certified engineering talent pipeline.

Ng Sze Han said the Hub would capture opportunities in asset lifecycle management and digital integration, solidifying Selangor’s position as a regional engineering anchor.
