Shopee expanded its Rai Lokal Jelajah Komuniti programme to Johor, equipping local entrepreneurs with digital commerce skills, online business strategies, and opportunities to reach wider markets.

Shopee Digital Commerce Skills

Shopee has expanded its Rai Lokal Jelajah Komuniti initiative to Johor, strengthening efforts to help local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises embrace digital commerce and grow their businesses online. Held during the Department of Insolvency Malaysia Johor Open Day 2026 in Pengerang, the programme attracted more than 200 entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners, affiliates, and community members.

The event focused on practical digital skills that can help local businesses compete in an increasingly connected marketplace. Participants attended training sessions led by ShopeeXperts, covering topics such as setting up an online store, improving product visibility, engaging customers, and using tools like Shopee Live and promotional campaigns.

The programme was officiated by YB Dato’ Sri Azalina binti Othman Said, who highlighted the importance of digital readiness in supporting Johor’s economic growth. She noted that initiatives bringing digital knowledge closer to communities can help entrepreneurs seize opportunities and contribute to the local economy.

Shopee Malaysia’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Nadia Anwar, said many Johor-based businesses have strong potential to expand through e-commerce. She emphasized Shopee’s commitment to providing entrepreneurs with the knowledge and support needed to reach customers beyond their local communities.

The Johor roadshow marks another milestone in Shopee’s nationwide effort to promote digital entrepreneurship and sustainable business growth.
