HONG KONG, May 3, 2026 — SML Group has secured validation from the Science Based Targets initiative for its commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050.
The global label and RFID solutions provider said the validation aligns its long-term climate targets with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C pathway under SBTi’s Net-Zero Criteria V1.3.
SML Group also reaffirmed its near-term target to reduce absolute emissions by 42 per cent by 2030 from a 2021 baseline, while reporting a 12.9 per cent reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions so far.
The company’s InfuseRFID embedded tagging technology recently won the 2026 SEAL Sustainable Product Award and a Gold Globee Award for sustainability innovation.
Separately, SML Group was named among China’s most innovative RFID enterprises at the 2025 IoT Star Awards, recognising its RFID capabilities spanning design, engineering and deployment across more than 20 countries.
