Top Glove Corporation Bhd conducted its 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually from its headquarters, Top Glove Tower, in Setia Alam.
All proposed resolutions were successfully passed during the AGM. Following this, the entire Board of Directors, including Executive Chairman Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai and Board Sustainability Committee Chairman Ms. Sharmila Sekarajasekaran, along with Senior Management and Advisors, reiterated their commitment to the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP BHR) and the Ikrar Bebas Rasuah (IBR) or Corruption Free Pledge.
The renewal of the UNGP BHR pledge signifies the company’s dedication to preventing, addressing, and remedying human rights abuses within its business operations.
This commitment includes upholding corporate responsibility, protecting human rights, and ensuring access to effective remedies for victims of business-related human rights abuses.
The initial pledge of support for UNGP BHR took place in December 2021, involving full participation from the Board of Directors, advisors, and senior management.
Additionally, Top Glove reaffirmed its commitment to the IBR, an initiative by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) aimed at preventing corruption within organizations.
The IBR represents an individual oath taken by the organization’s leadership to uphold accountability and prevent engagement in corrupt practices. Top Glove initially took the IBR in September 2018 and reiterated its commitment in 2020, emphasizing its dedication to combatting corruption and promoting integrity within the company and among its business associates.
The company’s efforts to uphold these principles and commitments demonstrate its ongoing dedication to ethical business practices, human rights protection, and anti-corruption initiatives.
